Chris O'Connor - Head Coach

Head Coach

Coach O’Connor begins his 4rd season at Bellevue High School with an overall record of 67-17.  In his inaugural season the team took 4th in the 3A state championships.  Last year the team finished 26 – 3 and placed 3rd in state.  The team also won the 2008 Maxpreps National Division Holiday tournament one of the top holiday tournaments in the country.

Jason Griffith - Assistant Coach

Jason found his passion for coaching immediately after college in 1996 when he assisted at Bothell High School for 3 years.  He then went to Eastlake High School in 1999.  Both teams placed at state during his tenure at the schools.  Jason is going into his 4rd year as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Bellevue High School, which has includes at 4th place state finish in 2007 and a 3rd place state finish in 2009.

Ryan Cruz - JV Head Coach

JV Head Coach

Ryan was born and raised in Hawaii. He grew up playing football, basketball and challenging the waves of local beaches! This is Ryan’s third season with the Wolverines. First year he was the C team Head Coach and last season he was the JV Head Coach.

Bobby Hopkins - Assistant Coach

Coach Bobby Hopkins is in his fourth year with the Bellevue Wolverine Basketball program.  He continues to be a key part of the coaching staff and will be a varsity assistant this season.  Prior to coming to BHS Bobby spent the previous 4 years as an assistant to Coach O’Connor and JV Head Coach at SHS.  Bobby first got started coaching with select teams on Mercer Island followed by being an assistant coach for MIHS where they went on to win the state finals in 1997 and 1999.

Barney Blough - Head Coach (C-Team)

Barney Blough begins his second season with the Wolverines.  His coaching career began with the 7th grade boy’s basketball team at Explorer Middle School in Mukilteo during the 2002 season. From 2003 – 2007 he coached both boys and girls basketball at Giaudrone Middle School in Tacoma. Coach Blough also spent 3 seasons as a coach for the Bellarmine boy’s basketball C team and as an assistant for the varsity team, including their run to a 3rd place finish at State in 2008.
